Being engaged in meaningful activity allows us to meet some of our most basic needs, such as socialisation, a sense of accomplishment, a sense of purpose, play, as well as our need for mental and physical stimulation. Such activities can also give us a sense of collaboration and team-building when we participate with others.
We ensure we have a variety of specialist activities available that reflects the interests and capabilities of the people that we care for and we expect as many of our staff as possible to get involved in our activities groups and therapy sessions.
We understand how people have different interests and abilities and try our best to provide meaningful activities to suit each individual. Our staff get to know what stimulates, engages and gives purpose to each individual and we take feedback from our residents to make sure there is something for everyone to enjoy.
We also employ the organisation 'Oomph', an award-winning social enterprise dedicated to enhancing the mental, physical and emotional well-being of older adults. They deliver ground-breaking, cost effective solutions to give older people the best possible quality of life.
