Blackwood staff and residents visit Newquay Zoo

Posted by cornwallcare on June 30, 2017

Three lucky residents from Blackwood were recently taken to Newquay Zoo by their carers and activities co-ordinator to see the animals and enjoy a packed lunch.

Connecting with animals on any level can offer numerous advantages for both carers and the people in their care. Animals can help lower blood pressure and increase feelings of happiness in people of all ages. Zoo excursions are beneficial to a person who has depression and for those living with Alzheimer’s disease it has been said that spending a few hours strolling around a zoo can often bring back fond childhood memories.

Cornwall Care strive to treat their clients as individuals and tailor their activities to suit each person. I think you can see by the photos that these residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves and hope to visit again in the future.
