Diamond Wedding Anniversary at Trewartha

Posted by cornwallcare on March 14, 2017

Peter and Joan Manley had a wonderful time celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary at Trewartha, our nursing home in Carbis Bay, recently.

Friends and family visited Joan and Peter at Trewartha, enjoying a lively party to celebrate their time together. The prosecco was flowing and a lovely cake was baked for the occasion. The couple also received a card from HM the Queen.

Peter and Joan met at Smithfield meat market in London when Joan was 18 years old and Peter was 23 years old. Peter worked on the market, whereas Joan worked in an office nearby. Peter asked Joan for a dance at a party one day and as they say, the rest is history.

60 years after they got married, Peter and Joan enjoyed a party once more, this time at Trewartha, where staff and relatives made it their mission to create a fantastic day.

It is important to us at Cornwall Care that we celebrate our residents’ personal milestones – whether those are anniversaries, birthdays or family occasions – which is why we facilitate parties and welcome relatives to join us to celebrate with their loved ones. We want to make the day as special as possible.

After all, a Diamond Wedding Anniversary only happens once and it deserves a proper celebration!

Congratulations, Peter and Joan!
