Harvest Festival with Cedar Grange

Posted by cornwallcare on July 20, 2017

Cedar Grange residents, staff and visitors recently enjoyed this year’s Harvest Festival.

The service was conducted by the Reverend Theresa Folland. It was a joyous ceremony where thanks was given for the abundance of fruit and vegetables we are now all enjoying in our gardens and allotments which then end up on our plates at dinner time.

Look at the beautiful display, which was courtesy of Pam Mercer, Sally Bramham and Glenys Long. Sarah and Glenys set up the display for all to see and enjoy. The vegetables were grown in the allotments and the floor display was created as an autumnal scene with fallen leaves and apples.

Flowers were picked from the garden and Pam Bee brought in some super honey from her bee hives along with squashes and terracotta pots.

Sally brought in chicken and duck eggs and there were homemade chutneys, pickles and jams made from the previous harvest.

Hymns were sung and enjoyed by all. We would like to thank Rev. Theresa for a lovely service and look forward to next year’s.
