At Cornwall Care, we don't just support our own, we also do our best to support other local charities and good causes close to our hearts.
As a charity ourselves, we understand the importance of fundraising and are committed to not only raising money for our residents' Comforts Funds in our residential and nursing homes, but for other good causes as well.
On Thursday 15th July, Robert Black, our CEO at Cornwall Care, and the team from Trengrouse, our nursing home in Helston, presented a cheque to Jessica Burgess, Fundraising Manager at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity, as a donation towards their Neonatal Unit at Treliske.
The Neonatal Unit cares for babies born in Cornwall that are under 35 weeks old and need special care and monitoring.
“Support to the Neonatal Unit’s charitable fund within Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity ensures our smallest patients are diagnosed and treated faster by providing the newest technology and equipment. Donations like the one given by Cornwall Care are also used to create healing environments for patients and more comfortable facilities for families, as well as fund specialised staff training. With the most advanced medical breakthroughs available, the team on the Neonatal Unit can provide gold standard care for these precious little ones. “

Initiated by the Activities Team at Trengrouse, we put on several 'Neon Days' across our organisation, raising money with raffles, cake sales and fancy-dress competitions.
Between Trengrouse in Helston, Headlands in Carbis Bay, St Breock in Wadebridge and our Central Office in Truro, we raised a total of £327.47.
RCHT were delighted to receive the donation to their Neonatal Unit, thanking our team at Trengrouse for arranging the day with them and starting off 'Neon Day'.
Trengrouse is a lovely example of how our staff care for their communities.
Committed to putting on theme days every few months, our team at Trengrouse alternate between raising funds for our residents' Comforts Fund and raising funds for local charities and good causes.
For this particular fundraiser, some pregnant staff members at Trengrouse suggested dressing up in neon to raise awareness and funds for the Neonatal Unit.
