Ela, a Level 3 Health Care Assistant, started work for Cornwall Care in 2003, as a Home Care carer in the community, where she worked for seven years.
In 2009, Ela transferred from the community team to the care homes team, joining Mountford, our nursing home in Truro, as a Care Practitioner. In 2011 she moved over to Redannick as a Care Co-ordinator and has worked there ever since, until her retirement a few weeks ago.
“Ela is a lovely lady and has been a brilliant member of our team. She has undergone training with a positive attitude and will be missed by her colleagues.”
Sue Tyack, Deputy Manager at Redannick
To celebrate her retirement and thank Ela for her 14 years of service at Cornwall Care, the team at Redannick held a surprise party and buffet. We also arranged for a £50 shopping voucher, flowers and a certificate for her.
At Cornwall Care, we believe it is important to reward staff for their accomplishments and for providing fantastic care. We have several reward schemes, such as our ‘My Moments’, long service and retirement awards that recognise and celebrate our employees’ achievements and service.
There are many staff members working for Cornwall Care who have been with us for decades, moving up through different positions and contributing at various levels to the charity. With fantastic training available, we encourage staff to develop and enhance their skills; we believe working in care is more than ‘just a job’, it is a rewarding, fulfilling and enjoyable career.
If you are interested in a career in caring for others, whether in care homes or in the community, our team would love to speak with you.
