Trewartha is a 37 bed nursing home for people in need of dementia support. We care for our residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in a supportive, dignified and fun environment. Our staff promote independence and understand different illnesses. They are highly trained and passionate about their roles and the lives of our residents. Our lovely home sits in the beautiful Carbis Bay, overlooking our garden and the ocean. Visitors are always welcome.
At Trewartha we care for people with dementia and nursing needs. We understand how important relationships are and we like to form close bonds with our residents, their families and friends. Treating people as individuals is at the heart of our care at Trewartha, which is why we encourage residents to personalise their rooms and why we tailor our care packages to the individual’s needs.
When residents join us at Trewartha, the first thing we do is develop a comprehensive care plan with them, setting out the care we aim to provide and how we will achieve this. We assess this plan on a continual basis, working with the resident to ensure that their needs are met. Care is available for our residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from a team of passionate individuals.
Trewartha was designed for the comfort of our residents. We have bright, spacious rooms and lovely big reception areas, a large conservatory that overlooks the inner garden and three lounges for when people need some quiet space to relax or chat with friends and relatives. We also have two lovely secure gardens, a great view of the beautiful Carbis Bay and some fantastic theme and sensory areas, such as our vintage sweetshop, cinema room and allotment, where residents can grow vegetables.
Our home is spacious and bright, with a team that love what they do. Trewartha is one of several care homes owned and operated by Cornwall Care, a not-for-profit charity and the largest provider of care homes in the county. Cornwall Care has a reputation for genuine and loving care for residents and we at Trewartha are proud to share that. Our aim at Trewartha is to provide the very best care possible in a loving and dignified environment, supporting our residents’ individual needs.
At Cornwall Care we ensure that our staff are supported. We know how important it is to understand our residents and their illnesses, particularly dementia and mental health, which can often be misunderstood, so we make sure that all our staff are trained in dementia care and ethics.
We are nationally recommended and awarded for our training and career development. Our aim as a team is to provide loving support for all our residents, promoting awareness, safety and most important of all, individuality.
Individuality and activity are important to us; at Trewartha we have lots of regular activities, entertainment and events, as well as different areas for our residents to enjoy. Our two secure gardens can be accessed at any time and our vintage theme and sensory areas are extremely popular as well. We have cats and dogs who live with us and frequent visits from friends, families and members of our local community, so our home is always busy. We also like to take trips out!
Every week, our Activities Co-ordinators will prepare a list of organised activities. If you are interested in finding out more or would like to get involved please contact our team at Trewartha.
