Trengrouse are raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care

Posted by admin on June 30,2017

On Saturday 4th November, Tertia, Julie and her senior team will be supporting a cause close to their hearts by helping to raise money for Cornwall Hospice Care. They will be spending the night in Bodmin Jail – UK’s most haunted venue!

TERTIA'S STORY
As a Clinical Matron for Cornwall Care, I help to provide passionate care and support to our clients during the end stage of their life. It is a matter close to my heart.

My colleagues and I work closely with our local hospices and their staff. In order to raise awareness for this important cause, I and my senior team from Cornwall Care’s Trengrouse care home in Helston want to help by taking part in this event.

Having recently visited the jail and reading the life stories of the people who were jailed here, it struck me how much we take life for granted and how we should treasure it so much more. We as a team feel privileged to be in a position to be able to support people in this way.

ABOUT CORNWALL HOSPICE CARE
The hospice's aim is for all people living with a terminal illness in Cornwall to be able to access the care and support they need at the right time and right place for them and their families.

They aspire to deliver the highest possible quality care and support to patients and their families. They strive to develop and secure the resources necessary to achieve this, both now and in the future.

With only 20% of funding coming from Cornwall's NHS Commissioners, the rest is raised with the support of the people of Cornwall and beyond - thank you all.

ABOUT CORNWALL CARE

Being the largest care provider in Cornwall we have a lot of experience and expertise. And as a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity you can be assured that we are there for you and not to make a profit.

We tailor our care to each individual – everybody is different after all. As well as offering residential, nursing and dementia care in our 16 care homes, Cornwall Care helps over 1,000 people across the county to live independently in their own homes.
