Maryann, one of our RGN team, joined Mary in the garden. Photographs were taken to put up around our home. We are hoping they will be a good conversation pointer to help our residents focus on happy memories and encourage them to talk about the things they like doing so we can arrange some more person-centred activities.
Gardening is such a rewarding past-time and it really helps strengthen bones, muscles and joints. It also helps the elderly with their balance which results in them falling less, it keeps high blood pressure at bay and reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke. All in all, it’s a great leisure activity that enhances positive mood.
