Baking delights with Chyvarhas

At Honey Fair, Callington’s annual community event on 2nd October 2019, Chyvarhas raised just short of £150 by selling delicious home-made cakes.

The money will go towards buying our residents their own ‘magic table’* to enjoy. ome of our residents also attended so they could soak up the great atmosphere. They enjoyed it very much. 

We would like to extend a huge thanks to Leri Pearce (our Catering Manager) and Karen Woolford (our Peripatetic Chef) who very kindly baked and helped sell all these cakes, and thank you to our great caretaker Lee for helping out too. Leri and Karen have been spending time in our service supporting kitchen staff with training and development.

*‘Magic table’ is the term we use for the Mobii interactive floor/table. It’s a fantastic tool that has great benefits for people living with dementia. In fact it also has great benefits to people who don’t have dementia but perhaps don’t always like to socialise with others. It seems to bring them ‘out of themselves’.
