Ninety Go Wild on Marazion Beach

Nothing could dampen the spirits of the 90 party goers at the last of Cornwall Care’s 21st birthday parties – not even the weather. Staff with friends and family were there to celebrate Cornwall Care’s 21st year of being an independent Cornish charity. An amazing achievement I think you’d agree.

The bar was in place and the food was cooking – the party was ready to begin!

The stretch tent was in place for the cricket and rounders matches (which were kindly facilitated by Ben of Cornwall Sports Partnership). Competitiveness was high and a little bit of cheating crept in but it was all in good fun. The end result was a draw and everyone was cheered on by the sensible lot that stayed in the relative warmth of the tent.

When light stopped play, music and food took over. Tasty food was provided by The Old Stable Company and it was enjoyed by all. The band were called Scenic Route and they played a brilliant set until the sun went down.

Braziers were lit and marshmallows were toasted. Robert conducted his own rendition of ‘Happy birthday to us’, the candles on the birthday cake were lit and the dancing began. It was hard to decide who enjoyed the evening more – the adults or the children.

The party location was a special gift from St Aubyn Estates and the late Lady Mary Holborow who was previously a Trustee of Cornwall Care. And what a special location it was – truly memorable.

Thank you to all that took part.
Here’s to the next 21 years!
