Cornwall Care staff have shown their appreciation for the vital work of Cornwall Air Ambulance by raising £390 for their Heli Appeal.

Motivated by Pirate FM’s ‘Bring A Pound To Work Day’, employees donated generously. At Cedar Grange care home in Launceston, they went one stage further and dressed up in fancy dress for the occasion.

“My team love an opportunity to support good causes, whilst also creating a bit of fun and laughter for our residents,” said Cedar Grange manager Becky Pinnock. “There were some excellent costumes.”

The money was presented to Andrea Mercer, Pirate FM’s Sales Group Head, by Cornwall Care business assistant Melanie Hayne and recruitment advisor Matthew Beer.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have raised a significant amount of money towards a new Cornwall Air Ambulance helicopter,” said Melanie, who coordinated the collection with employment engagement and wellbeing advisor Andrea Redfern.

“We’re so proud of our colleagues for the enthusiasm and generosity they always show when it comes to helping others and making a positive contribution to their community. It’s a privilege to work in such a caring environment.”

In total, Pirate FM’s campaign raised £22,000 towards the heli appeal.
