Cornwall Care set up fundraising campaign to buy ‘magic tables’ for residents

This year it is our aim to buy as many ‘magic’ Mobii tables as possible. We would like one installed in every one of our 16 care homes for our residents to enjoy.

The Mobii projector system which we fondly refer to as a ‘magic table’ is a system designed to stimulate movement, communication and mental activity in those who are living with dementia and other mental health needs.

We have recently installed this magic table at The Green, our care home in Redruth. So far, results have been amazing - even those residents who are nursed from their beds have been able to take part. The system is great for co-ordination, reminiscence and as a great social tool as well.

Research continues to support the claims that regularly involving people in physical activities that stimulate movement, communication and mental engagement will always be beneficial and ultimately enhance their quality of life.
