We painted some lovely Christmas ornaments at The Starglazers pottery painting workshop ready to be put on our Christmas tree in reception.
Our residents helped to decorate the Christmas tree that is displayed at The Princess Pavilion’s Christmas tree festival in Falmouth. This year’s theme is Treasure Island which was chosen to tie in with what the local theatre group are performing this year.
We made skull and crossbones from plaster of paris, used one of ornaments from the Starglazers workshop that has 'Trevern Island' painted on it and we made map pieces and gold coins too. Some of our residents enjoyed a trip around the Pavilion to look at all the trees on display and then we stopped off for a lovely hot chocolate in the café.
We have also enjoyed fresh fruit trolleys and cooking sessions – making seasonal treats such as chocolate cinnamon clementine slices and caramel apples.
Hi Di Hi Activities Group recently hosted a Christmas workshop in which our residents made wreaths, table decorations and enjoyed eating mince pies, drinking non-alcoholic mulled punch and of course singing to Christmas music! The other day, we made DIY Christmas snow globes too.
We have had visits from local choirs, the fire brigade and Peanut the dog – much to the delight of the residents. All in all, a very busy month and immense joy to all that too part.
