Residents at Cedar Grange, our care home in Launceston, enjoyed some extra festive cheer thanks to construction and infrastructure specialists Kier Group.
Staff from Kier joined forces with Cornwall Care staff to sing socially distanced carols outside Cedar Grange care home. The company has also gifted seasonal hampers to residents.
Providing festive support is their latest effort to help Cedar Grange. In the summer, a group of volunteers from the business spent time tidying up the outside areas and Kier donated plants and paint for garden furniture.
Kate Ellis from Kier Group organised the Christmas hampers and singing. She said: “Our staff were keen to do more to support the residents of Cedar Grange after getting so much out of our gardening volunteering this summer. We all know what a challenging year this has been, especially for the care sector. We hope the residents of Cedar Grange enjoyed listening to the carols as much as we enjoyed singing them.”
CEO Anne Thomas said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by support this year and these acts of kindness mean so much, both to our residents and staff. Christmas is going to be different for everyone this year and we’re all in need of some extra festive cheer. It was wonderful for the residents at Cedar Grange to listen to carols performed by the staff from Kier and the festive hampers were such a thoughtful gift.”
