The gang brought along some of their home-made produce to sell and enjoy such as jams, chutneys, cakes, pastries and other goodies. Money raised on the day will go towards the amenities funds for Trewartha. This money pays for things such as gifts, events and activities for the residents.
The wedding festival was very interesting and everybody was involved – talking about their own special day. We learnt such a lot about weddings in wartime, weddings in winter and spring, weddings in exotic locations and Hindu weddings too. Flowers and wedding bouquets were also on display at the festival.
Staff donned wedding outfits, some individual, some from charity shops. Tiara wearing was very popular as were veils. The gents looked dapper in their suits and some even managed to wear flowers in their lapels and the odd top hat too. There was a memory board with photos of the weddings of our staff and residents and a ‘guess who?’ challenge.
A lot of fun was had by all that afternoon and a delicious strawberry and cream wedding cake, champagne jelly and prosecco toast were particularly enjoyed by everybody!
