“We are delighted that our residents at The Green are already gaining so much from this wonderful technology,” said Anne Thomas, Chief Executive.

The Green is believed to be the first care home in Cornwall to take delivery of the Mobii projection system, which is designed to stimulate movement, communication and mental activity.

The motion-activated unit can project on to tables, beds and floors, using motion sensors to turn them into interactive surfaces controlled by touching, swiping and splatting. With more than 300 different apps, quizzes and activities, there is plenty to help keep residents engaged and entertained, including music, games and painting.

The system was supplied by OM Interactive who have won the Pioneers in Technology Award at this year’s Dementia Care & Nursing Home Expo, and the runner-up award in Most Outstanding Contribution to Dementia Care.

With each system costing around £7,000, we are hoping that we can fundraise enough to install these interactive projectors in our other care homes as well.
