May Day Celebrations with Cornwall Care

May Day is a big event across Cornwall and many residents in Cornwall Care’s homes had a wonderful time celebrating it.

On Flora Day in Helston, the team at Trengrouse, Cornwall Care’s nursing home, held an indoor party for residents, with a buffet and entertainment.

Residents and staff from Redannick, Cornwall Care’s residential home in Truro, had an outing in the mini-bus to join in the celebrations for the day. There was a marching band and dancers dressed in formal evening gowns and suits to entertain.

In Wadebridge, the band that performs the Padstow ‘Oss visited St Breock, Cornwall Care’s residential home.

Lucy Ballard from the Peace ‘Oss (the blue ‘Oss) organised a visit to play the May song and performed a mini strike up to celebrate the coming of spring – a tradition enjoyed by many residents, particularly those from Padstow.

Residents enjoyed a sing-a-long and refreshments, including sherry, wine and cupcakes.

Taking part in seasonal events, particularly those personal to residents, is an important part of the Cornwall Care calendar. Activity and entertainment are vital to the well-being of residents and Cornwall Care’s staff are committed to providing wonderful events and performances by local entertainers.
