It’s important to us that we put on interesting, engaging and fun events for our residents. We love to party and this was a perfect opportunity to do that, inviting our friends to join us in the fun and learn more about us.

“We had a lovely day in the garden. The sun shone beautifully in Newquay and we enjoyed an outside buffet of finger food and cream teas."
Mo Knowles, Customer Relations Administrator
“A great day was had by all. The weather was kind and stayed dry with the sun breaking through during the afternoon. Andy Marshall gave a wonderful performance of the old Frank Sinatra tunes. Everyone joined in with the singing and dancing. Joyce Todd, one of our residents, won the 32″ television in the raffle. The food was amazing and the Pimm’s and Prosecco were flowing. Compliments from all who came. Our gardening club did the flowers in the boat in the shape of a crown and the craft club made the soldier and century box.”
Natalie Hudson, Deputy Manager at Trewartha
“The entertainment was very cheerful and our residents enjoyed dancing away on the floor and in their seats. Visitors also attended and enjoyed the entertainment with their family members along with staff joining in dancing with our residents. Cream teas were enjoyed by all and we had a lovely performance by Martin Fowler.”
Sheryl Blackham, Customer Relations Administrator at Blackwood
“We held a Street Party in our main garden. We had music, the kitchen made a spread of party food, we invited all friends and family of our residents and the sun shone down on us all. We had a local duo of singers, ‘Ice and a Slice’, who get our residents on their feet while singing top hits from the 50s. Our residents helped us make crowns, bunting, flags and we gathered memorabilia, cups, dishes, memory books and newspapers – all about the royal family in the build up to the street party so all residents knew it was coming up soon. It really was a day to remember!”
April Benning, Customer Relations Administrator at Cedar Grange
“We would love to thank the family and friends who attended, the staff at Cedar, our kitchen team who made a fantastic spread of party food and desserts, our activity team who put so much time into the organisation and preparation of the day and also ‘Ice and a Slice’ who provided us with great entertainment in the run up of the big day.”

It is important to us that we take part in national events like these, not only to show our support and get involved in the community spirit of the occasion, but also for the therapeutic potential these celebrations can have for our residents and the opportunity it presents for us to welcome in our residents’ friends and relatives for a bit of fun. We have had a wonderful time celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday this year and look forward to more exciting events to come.
