Rachel, who has worked for Cornwall Care for 18 years, was recently presented an award by Richard Bates (Director of Finance) for her fantastic service to Cornwall Care.
Rachel was an HCA when she first started and then transferred to be a day care assistant. When the day care setting closed she returned to being an HCA and then supported staff with their care qualifications by being an assessor. Rachel won an outstanding staff award in 2016.
She has steadily progressed up the ladder to becoming an HCA3 and has been enjoying this role ever since. Rachel has always supported new staff with care and diploma certificates. She even took work home to support the candidates.
Rachel is a lovely, caring, kind person who always puts our clients first and she was even able to adapt her skills in other areas of the home including the kitchen by helping with cooking when the chef was off for a period of time.
Rachel enjoys activities with our clients and is always singing and dancing with them when we have musical entertainment. One relative gave us money to buy a karaoke machine for the home so she could continue signing with the clients. That’s how much she enjoys entertaining them.
Rachel has been an active fundraiser for Trevarna throughout her employment, always supporting any event. She is a very popular staff member and is always welcomed by everyone when she visits. Thank you very much for your dedication Rachel, you really are a valued member of staff.
