Woodland residents show their creativity

Residents at Woodland enjoyed their first art workshop with Amie Scott recently.

Our residents made their own sun catchers which they have now placed in their bedroom windows. Different coloured glass in all different shapes were supplied for residents to choose from. They attached the glass to wood by using various types of ribbon. They enjoyed their session so much and can’t wait until the next workshop.

Sun catchers are small, reflective glass or nacre pieces that are hung indoors at windows to ‘catch the light’ from a nearby source. A sun catcher is like the optical equivalent of a wind chime. It is believed that sun catchers were first made by the South Western Native Americans.
