International Guide Dog Day at Woodland House

International Guide Dog Day at Woodland House

Posted by admin on April 26,2019

On International Guide Dog Day we were visited by volunteer speaker Jean Marshall who gave a very interesting talk about guide dogs.

Jean brought along Dixie, a guide dog in training. Staff and residents thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and were amazed to hear all the facts about guide dogs and how much they can do.

Guide dogs provide opportunities for social interaction and greater independence for legally blind adults. International Guide Dog Day pays tribute to the dogs who do this impressive work. Guide dogs help the visually impaired make their way through the world while offering love and comfort in so many ways.
