British Armed Forces Day at Trevarna on 29 June

Trevarna will be celebrating British Armed Forces Day by having an afternoon tea party and entertainment for all to enjoy.

Please join us at on 29 June for some delicious food and drink to celebrate British Armed Forces Day. We will be holding a raffle on the day to raise money for some garden games for our residents and also for the St Austell Sea Cadets.

Donations for our raffle will be greatly received. Please hand in your donations at Trevarna in St Austell before 26 June.

We are hoping to hold the event outside – weather permitting so bring your sunglasses and sunscreen with you just in case. We have also planned a treat for everyone by inviting Scarlette Von B. who is a talented and versatile singer to entertain us with some good old tunes you may recognise. Scarlette will be singing from 2.30-3.30pm.

The son of our Activities Co-ordinator Marie Hulme, will also be visiting. He is a corporal in the Army and will be home from Brunei on one month’s leave. He will wear his uniform on the day so that our residents can recognise him as military personnel. He will be having chats with our residents which will make for a great reminiscence activity.

We will also have a visit from some young 10-12 year old sea cadets from St Austell. They will be accompanied by an adult. They will be showing off their knot tying skills to all the staff and residents.

All in all we think this will be a fabulous day so do come over and meet some very interesting people. We’re sure you will enjoy yourselves.
