Trevarna celebrate International Women’s Day

Trevarna will be holding an event for International Women’s Day (IWD) on the 8 March.

Staff will be asked to wear purple and green clothing which are two of the key colours that represent IWD. We are also very pleased to announce that an all-female choir will be singing for us at 2.30pm.

Friends and families of our residents are very welcome to attend and help us celebrate.

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, culture and political achievements of women. It has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.

Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom’s Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women’s equality. Information from International Women’s Day website.
