Will & Tania's Cycle to Paris for Alzheimer's Society
This year Cornwall Care celebrates its 21st birthday. As part of recognising and celebrating the work of Cornwall Care, two employees of Cornwall Care have made the decision to test their endurance by participating in the Alzheimer's London to Paris cycle.
Tania Williams (Flexicare Administrator/ Planner) and William John (Head of Property) have taken up The Alzheimer’s Society challenge of cycling from London to Paris, which takes place on 19th to the 23rd of July 2017.
As a Cornish charity, we aim to support other charities wherever possible. Tania and Will have chosen to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society as it is one of the charities of which we are closely related to, endeavouring to care for individuals living with varying levels of dementia.
The challenge will see them cycling from Marble Arch in London, all the way to the Eiffel Tower in Paris; around 328 miles over a period of four days in July.
“This is a huge challenge for us but we’re both really looking forward to it,” says Tania. “It’s a cause close to our hearts as well as our work.”
Neither Will nor Tania have ever undertaken a long distance cycle of this magnitude, but both are enthusiastic and committed to training and raising £3,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society to fund vital dementia research.
Will is a keen cyclist but would describe himself as ‘an enthusiastic beginner’, while Tania describes herself as ‘a total novice’; this is definitely going to be a challenge!
