Halloween at Penberthy

Posted by cornwallcare on November 2, 2018

Residents and staff had a great time celebrating Halloween.

Our home was decorated in a scary way and our staff and residents dressed the part in scary costumes. We played Halloween games and enjoyed munching a scary buffet. For those that dared, we watched scary movies later that night. A lot of fun was had by one and all.

The history of Halloween goes all the way back to a pagan festival called Samhain. The word Halloween comes from ‘all hallows’ eve’ and means hallowed evening. Hundreds of years ago, people dressed up as saints and went door to door, which is the origin of Halloween costumes and trick-or-treating.
